It should work, in principle.

./ is an abbreviation for the current working directory. ../ is an abreviation for the directory immediately above the current working directory. This guide looks fairly good with a section on relative and absolute paths: https://ryanstutorials.net/linuxtutorial/navigation.php

So.........thank you very much Turbocapitalist,

I was able to use the script to call the Perl statement. I tried to modify the Perl statement itself several times and couldn’t get it to run properly. Also, scripts are now in /var/www with the proper permissions.
