creating VPN with PPtP to connect to a router
i have a SMC7004R (think it is the R, ill verify that later) that runs PPtP for VPN
In Windows i can just creat a VPN connection and go from there, but i do not have a clue how to do this in linux. id like to learn how to do so via the CLI. i run both Whitebox 3 and RedHat 9 for my Linux distros. Thank you for the help and info. |
Never have used a linux pptp client yet.

that is awsome, and now i know why i could not find a way within my distros to get pptp to run.

well tried it, and the connection said it was there. program reported the correct info, but for what ever reason i was not able to rdesktop or ssh to either a system name, or to a direct IP addy.
oh well. ill keep playing around with it, or ill just learn enough about configuring and setting up an IPSEC VPN and move things off of the PPtP M$ propriatory cr4p. |
