creating livecd from running distribution
Hi,
I have installed ubuntu and made a number of changes, and now want to make it into a livecd which can be booted, much like knoppix and other similar live cd distributions. I know that i can use the ubuntu livecd, extract it, make changes, and then re-create the livecd. but this is not what im after. The problem is that i have the ubuntu that is installed running perfectly, and i have made many many changes over a long period of time, which i can't reproduce. My question (sorry for repeating myself) is it possible to create a livecd from this existing installation? many thanks! Daniel |
mkisofs?
You try playing with mkisofs (more info in the man page).
once you have an iso, you could burn it and install a loader on the disk. I'm sure that must be possible. Anyone else try this or have a better idea? |
