Create a jffs2 file system on a CF card with fc7?

I am intend to build a system with fc7. The hard drive is a CF card that is connecting to the system by an adapter with sata cable.I did some research that Jffs2 is they type of file system suit for flash card. And i have download and install mtd-utility. When I type "$cd ${PROJROOT}" on the shell command line then hit enter, nothing is happening. Then I type "mkfs.jffs2 -r rootfs/ -o images/rootfs-jffs2.img", then I receive the following message "mkfs.jffs2 : no output file : no such file or directory". Can anyone help me on this to create the image?
