While Im thinking about it maybe you could answer a couple other questions for me. I picked a couple books that are both based on RH 7.2. Both of them make referance to a Linuxconf utility that I cant seem to find. Also I installed Samba and the Swat package this last time I reinstalled. when I try to open swat I get a access denied on port 901 error. It tries to hit 127.0.0.1:901. I read in the book that it used port 901 so when I set the firrewall up during the install I specified to allow traffic on port 901. Do I need to open something else or what did I do wrong there?

I missed that part. My bad, I'll do that this evening. I installed a 256meg stick in place of the 32 so now I have a 128 and a 256 in there and I did the "free" test and now it says Im only using 64 meg where I was using 101 before, and thats with the same apps open, weird. I was also going to try out this 6.4 caviar drive I have lying around to see if it sped things up but it turns out that its just a 5400rpm drive so I dont think there would be any gain by that.

Pal, I'm trying to answer specific questions here. So one issue at a time. Do one thing, do it well. That means I would want to get as many things done in one go, so read my posts, do exactly what I say to give me what I need. Taking someone else's time for granted doesn't work here. No offense, just a primer on the forum culture.

Sorry. I guess Im just trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible, which means I ask alot of questions. I think I can shut up and listen now. And as for taking your time for granted, I dont believe I was doing that, Im fact I made it clear in a previous post how much I appreciated the time you have spent trying to help me resolve these issues.
