CRC and Out of Memory Error
Hi,
My Linux PC (Mandrake 8.1) crashed, and when I rebooted it, I got this:
Uncompressing Linux...
CRC Error
-- System Halted
I left my PC for the next day, and now I get this:
Uncompressing Linux...
Out of memory
-- System Halted
How can I be out of memory?
Any ideas?

Pentium 133
32MB Ram
8GB HDD
Mandrake 8.1
There is a public directory on the hdd. If I cannot fix the problem, is there a way I can get the stuff in the /home/public dir?

These errors can happen due to some processor+board or memory(bank fill)+board combinations.
Getting the stuff off of the disk depends on you being able to dump the HD in another box and mount it there, boot it with a boot/install/resuce disk/cdr and use network storage or attach some portable storage device.
