Could not mount partition during network install

I can connect to the server and everything is fine until I select all the pacakages and start the install.

I get a message telling me that "Could not mount partition /dev/hdb2 to /mnt/.

you can continue if you know what you are doing, but to prevent damage to your file system, it's safer to cancel and re-boot."

continue abort retry

of course I hit continue because there isn't anything to mess up.

I did have fedora on here and just stuck the linux boot disk in the cd tray and started a network install.

Seems to me that a few weeks ago when I moved from fedora to suse I was running into the same issue.

It almost acted like fedora would do something to the partitions where it's not readable to other OS's

To fix that I went to seagates website and grabbed the disc wizard and spent the night writing 0's to the disk and then I could load it.

That's actually what I'm in the process of doing right now. Just writting 0's and then format and start another network install of Suse 9.2

so I guess my question is. Have any of you experinced this same kind of problem?

If so what did you do to correct it?

Thanks for your time.

Doug Gentry

PS, get this. I can and did load Suse 9.1 with no problem right after the fedora thing.... It's just 9.2 I'm having the issues with.

I did have 9.1 installed... just to make sure it's working. then I start the network install and it comes up and says that about the /dev/hdb2 to /mnt/

So I'm leaning to the idea that after my 120 gb is all 0s there should be no reason to get that error???? hope hope hope.... pray pray pray!!!
