Copying a File...


How do i copy a file using the terminal ? Gnome Red Hat 8.0

cp (1) - copy files and directories
cpio (1) - copy files to and from archives
hcopy (1) - copy files from or to an HFS volume

mcopy (1) - copy MSDOS files to/from Unix
objcopy (1) - copy and translate object files

copy /etc/hosts to /backup/etc/hosts


example

cp /etc/hosts /backup/etc/hosts

or

cp /etc/hosts /backup/etc/
