cooledit problem

I installed cooledit cooledit.sourceforge.net on Red Hat 7.2 no problem. I have an older machine with Red Hat 6.1 using the rpm it installed but when I try to run it the program will not come up. It runs as a process but will not execute.

Stert it in a terminal and see if it throws any error messages.

I opened it in a terminal. No error messages. If I opened it with cooledit & the command prompt comes back but cooledit will not run. If I open it without the & the terminal just sits there.

Ok, try changing to the directory where the cooledit binary lives and do "ldd cooledit" in a terminal to see if there are any missing libraries.

I ran ldd cooledit. All libraries are there and in order

It must be a redhat thing, I just downloaded the source and in installed and works fine on slack. Have a look in the config.log file to see if there were any error messages.
