Cool Linux Graphical bootup screen thing

Hey all,
A while ago when I was only new to linux i remember reading an article about how to prevent people from steeling laptops and computers. One way was to have a linux boot up screen that imitated something from a chemical research lab detailing that the laptop wasnt ment to leave the perimeter and crap like that. Then there was like prompts to insert ID cards and passwords etc...
I thought it was cool, and I must admit, it was one of the things that got me hooked on Linux.
Only recently did I remember this, and was wondering if anybody out there is the vast community has seen or knows someone who has seen something like this.
I am getting tyred of my black and while bootup, and would much prefer something like that, or even something along the lines of the Gentoo boot disk.

Does Anybody have any ideas

Cheers All
dave.
