control user access


I use wsftp on RH system , if I want to only allow my login ID to use ftp to access the RH server , what can I do ? thx

Add something like:

/bin/false

To your /etc/shells file and then change the user's shell in /etc/passwd to /bin/false

This way they can only use the built-in commands with FTP and won't be able to login by any other means without a valid shell.
