Exclamation Contab -- What is the problem in my cron configure file? -- please help me

here is my progress to create cron on Redhat system to schedule SGR run:
- user@localhost# crontab -e
- then put my configuration:

# Run SRG daily every day at 23:59 p.m
59 23 * * * root /usr/local/srg-1.1/srg.daily
# Run SRG weekly every week at 01:59 a.m
59 01 * * 1 root /usr/local/srg-1.1/srg.weekly
# Run SRG monthly every month on 25th at 02:59a.m
59 02 25 * * root /usr/local/srg-1.1/srg.monthly

- save and exit.
- Get the information: "crontab: installing new crontab"
- Restart cron daemon.

Am i right? Are there some wrong or suggestion with that configuration? Is user "root" in my configuration neccessary? If everything is exactly, when can my configuration crontab take effect?
Please help me solve the problem. Thank you very much.

Thumbs down

Your post indicates that you are editing a user crontab wirh a call to root access. This will not work. Log in as root, then crontab -e and it should work.
