Question Console Scrollbar Not fucntioning???

Hi,

I have SuSE Linux. The console scrollbar does not work when I login as user so I have to use the | less command to read stuff now. However when I use root the scrollbar is working fine.

This leads me to believe that something is wrong with my settings on the console bar, but I have found that the 'HISTORY' option is now now working with the console settings. It is there but is a light white color showing me that this function is not available.

So I think that my user is not allowed to use this function because the HISTORY is -

A) Write protected.
B) File is missing.

So how exactly do I get this function back? I do not have a clue what the actual 'file' is that needs to have a permission change. Does anyone know what file console uses to write too?

I would really like to get that HISTORY option back.

THanks for any help!!
