Connecting to a yum repository

Good Afternoon,

I created a local yum repository on a test server and can successfully use the yum install command to install new packages.

When I attempt to connect to this repository from a different server I am getting the following error 1 Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository. Please verify its path and try again.

Here is the repo file I create:

[mylocalnet]
name=Red Hat Enterprise Linux $releaserver - $basearch
baseurl=file:///192.168.0.1/mgt/locolRepo/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

Any help on resolving this is much appreciated.

Sharlene

Why are you trying to mix a file:// psuedo protocol with an ip address??? assuming everything else is correct, change it to "http://192....."

Sorry I copied the entry I've used on the local server and forgot to make the necessary change. I am using http://192.x.x.x.

Apologies for not making this clear.
