connecting to a shell throw linux
 
hallo i know this sounds kind of silly but how do i connect to a linux server activating shell thorw linux? i know that in windows i use putty

what do i use in linux?

soory for the dumb question i am a newbie and im proud

From what I've read of the putty website I think ssh will do what you want.
Try the command "ssh -l username hostname", if it works it will ask for your password, then you should be able to run commands on the server.
