Configuring Mail Proxy ( MTA Postfix )
Hello Friends,

Hope you all are doing fine.

I am really in a very difficult situation with one of my task which I am currently working with. I wish to draft a short descp on the task here.

The task which includes the Installation & Configuration of Mail Proxy server with mail scanners like Spamassassin, Amavis-newd, Clamav. The MTA which I am using with this server is Postfix. There are lot of documentations available online. In base to a documentation out that, I configured the mail proxy and it is running very fine now.

Don't confuse.. reading the thread..

But still i am in a critical situation, still lot to go to meet the actual requirement what client required. He need an entirely new setup other than the usual Mail Proxy server which runs on the amavis-newd + spamassassin mail scanners.

What I understood from his actaul requirment is.. he need accept the mail by the mail scanner (spamassassin) before it accepts by the Postfix to relay it.

Still I confused.. what he is actually intending to!!!

The one which I setup is running like this.

port 25) will accept the mail to the mail server and pass it to spamassassin/amavis using the content-filters setting configured on the file of postfix and scans for virus or spam and it will discard it once it tag as spammy or virus or else will relay the mail to actual scope.

According to my basic knowledge , the above describes the way how I approached the task. But still as I said, I need to work to meet the actual requirment.

I request any of them who is having a better experience with the configuration of postfix/amavis-newd/spamassassin/clamav/ to reply for this thread.

Thanks once again,

Thanks & Regards

Here's an article from Linux Journal that may help:

I tried to find a different article they published about a year ago but had no luck.
