Computer doesn't get turned off after shutdown

hi,
I am using AMD system with via 8237 southbridge and via km400 north bridge. I am using Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.0 and my problem is whenever I shutdown my system it wont get turned off automatically. I get the message acpi_power_off called as the last message. There is no problem with Redhat Enterprise Linux 3.0 or any other Linux distributions. Need help. Thanks

Dose you kernel have apm(advanced power managment) installed. Slackware dose this aswell if apm isent installed and it is commented in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules

Maybe check that out.
