Compose special characters under X11 in rdesktop
Hi,
I'm trying to compose special characters under X11 in the following manner: Hold down the 'Alt'-Key, type '6', '5' on the numpad, then release the 'Alt' key. This gives me an 'A' (ASCII code 65). So far, everything's fine. My question: I'm using rdesktop to connect to a Windows Terminal Server under KDE, that's where I want to use this kind of composing special characters. I can compose special characters in notepad, but it doesn't work in MS Word. 1. I'm german, so can anyone tell me if there's a name for this way of creating characters (So I can search for it in google). 2. Where do I configure this composing of characters? (Linux keymap, X11, rdesktop or Windows Server) I've read the rdesktop docs, had a look at the rdesktop keymap file but I think I don't have enough understanding of how the keyboard stuff works, so I will be happy if you can give me a link to some nice docs. Or best would be a simple solution like: "Composing does not work in Word under rdestop because ... You simply have to add the line foo bla 123 to the keymap file to make it work" On a local Windows Install I can compose keys like that in Word, so it's apparently not a word but rather a keyboard (keymap?) problem. Forget about it
It seems to be a different problem, not a keyboard / keymap thing.
Just forget about it ... |
