command to see RAM type
 
is there a command i can type to find out what RAM I have in my computer, how many ram slots/dimm slots I have. What RAM is in each slot. Speed/brand/etc?

you can find out this info from the "BIOS"..........

If you don't have your motherboard documentation, open the case to get the make, model, and revision number. You can look up detailed specifications, including valid memory configuration. The only way I know of to get the manufacturer and other detailed information on the exact memory you have installed is to open the computer and take a look. Given the sometimes tight quarters, this may require removal. If you're careful, that shouldn't be a problem.
