command not found

how can i run the ifconfig and commands like that instead of putting the whole path /sbin/ifconfig ?????? ive tried doin ln -s /sbin/ifconfig but it never works

You just need to add /sbin to your path:
PATH="/sbin:$PATH"

heres my .bash_profile

PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin

export PATH
unset USERNAME

where do i insert sbin exactly!

Change:
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin

To:
PATH=/sbin:$PATH:$HOME/bin
