but why can't the sites to be searched be set in the config.ini?
typing out "torrench -t -k -s ...." each time ... idk, of course i could set an alias but this seems like a flaw in the software to me.
also, there was a minor glitch with the new config.ini:
Quote:
configparser.ParsingError: Source contains parsing errors: '/home/someone/.config/torrench/config.ini'
[line 10]: 'get you into serious troubles. Use it at your own risk.\n'

It gives options to user. Some prefer TPB, while some prefer KAT, some skytorrents.
Also, if any site goes down, another can be used.
Its not a flaw, but rather giving options to user. That being said, the software is opensource. Tweak as you please

I like the idea very much.. I cloned and built your folder from github. My few issues were the magnet links which is probably a fault on my part considering I use rtorrent and don't know how to automatically convert the magnet link to a torrent file with rtorrent. Also, the -t option for Pirate Bay did not work at all. If you need a few more site suggestions, I would look at 1337x.to and rarbg.to.. Like I said though, this would be great to use all the time. The magnets just don't work for me. Thank you.

I do not use rtorrent, but this kind of issue once came up. If I am not wrong, mangetic links can be directly served to rtorrent? That was one reason why I printed magnetic links to console, so they can be copied and served to rtorrent.

TPB did not work at all? As in the proxies were not available in your country? Or is it some tool bug? Please give some details. If its a bug, can you send me log file, so I can see what went wrong? Send log file to kryptxy@protonmail.com
About other sites, I will keep adding more websites in time

options of course.
but my preferences don't change - if i use a multisite torrent search tools, i want it to, well, use multiple sites, and as many as possible. this is individual but never changes for me.
so i want to define these options in the config.ini, and not have to type them out each time.
i think this is just common practice and not some personal feature request of mine.
I am in agreeance with ondoho.. that would be great to be able to actually set the sites of my choice in the config file. What happens if all the sites you have built in go down, then it's back to making another release versus editing a text file. Just my opinion. Again, thank you for the effort. I like the direction of your project.

Okay, I think I lost you here. What exaclty do you mean by multi-site support?

Well, you are in luck
Adding more sites is simple.
For TPB: Just add the proxy site in the beginning of the already-present list.
For KAT: Same as above. (Though I cannot assure all of them will work as some proxies share different code base. I added the ones I could find that share the same code base. You can try with other sites (and let me know about the ones that work?))
SkyTorrents official site is pretty fast and is available throughout. But still if you want to use any proxy, simply add site at the beginning.
