Your question is too vague or ambiguous for us to give you a definite answer.

IF your SuSE is new enough, I would suspect that UDEV plays a role in the recognition of USB flash devices when they are plogged in, at least, in making /dev/nodes for partitions, perhaps automounting the partitions, etc.

As for shell commands for you to get information about the device itself after it is connected, you might try these commands:
Code:
lsscsi
lsusb
The first shows scsi devices connected; the second gives info about USB devices.

If you need more help than this, please try again to better describe the problem, and what exactly you want to do, or know, about these USB flash things.

Cheers!

Code:
[0:0:0:0] disk TOSHIBA, TransMemory 6.50 /dev/sdb
If you're talking about this device, then, if it is formatted already, simply mount the partition(s) as root, and go ahead and use the device. For example, if the device has one partition on it, of Ext2 format, then try:
Code:
root# mount -t ext2 /dev/sdb1 /mount/point/somewhere
To see what-all partitions are available on your connected drives, use:
Code:
fdisk -l
Note that usually, devices listed in `lsscsi` will each have a unique address on the BUS. In your output, not only is that not the case, but also ,it appears that you are in some sort of VM configuration. I do not know if that is going to play any role at all in how you go about accessing the flash drive, but if you are not making progress still, then please post again for us, and show us what commands you're tried, and what results appear in your terminal from them, and we'll try to help some more.

Remember to UNmount the drive/partition(s) before unplugging, if you do get them mounted.

Run this command and see if it lists your usb

Code:
sudo fdisk -l
it may list as sbd1

create a directory to mount it

Code:
sudo mkdir /mnt/usb
mount the usb on /mnt/usb

Code:
sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb
To automount usb and other such devices

Code:
sudo /etc/init.d/haldaemon restart
Code:
 sudo chkconfig haldaemon on
