I realized most of Linux User now are coming from Microsoft world I mean
that they were using Windows OS and even Linux offers more stuff than windows does but psychological the brain is attached to windows (don't forget most of them born on Microsoft products) also in windows most of stuff is done with mouse which show windows how easy its and how hard is Linux in the view of these people .

my point is to create web Site that cover Linux as comparison to windows ( i mean how stuff is done is windows and how stuff is done on Linux )

also try to simplify the Linux and try to encourage big company Like Autodesk to do stuff for Linux

I think the main issue that you are going to have creating a list of comparisons, is that there are two flavours of Windows for comparison (XP and Vista - Excluding server distributions), but there are dozens of flavours of Linux.

Most everyday things that you can do graphically in Windows you can do graphically in a number of Linux distributions these days.

I personally prefer the option provided by LQ. If you have a problem, search here, chances are you are not the first person to experience this and someone has already answered the issue, if not create a new post.

Don't forget LQ also has a Tutorials section.

Well, I'm quite sure Ubuntu has more GUI than Window$, note that the Window$ installer is text-based (dunno about Vi$ta, but XP and lower for sure).

Getting a printer to work in Linux is the biggest thorn in the M$ to Linux shift, followed by other hardware issues I personally have a Lexmark X5150 that can move a paper from the supply to the bottom when I test print, and that after two hours work. I would really like to start a petition to each of the printer companies to write Linux drivers for their products. It would also be good if Linux magazines would do comparison tests of printers to showcase the ones that do work under Linux to light a fire under them.

Well, for sure you should consider yourself very lucky to have a working Lexmark printer in Linux. Lexmark not only makes very cheap and crappy printers, but also fails to release Linux drivers.

No really...

This is what it took to install a printer on my system...

Linux has a HCL like windows does...find a printer that is supported (most HPs are) and you will not have a problem...

I just plugged my HP printer in, the system found it and downloaded the drivers and installed them...done.

Really ?!?!?! You did THAT much work. Bah !

I didn't even have to plug in my HP printer, the system found it, didn't even need to download the drivers or install it, it just works automagically.

My HP printer started working before I got it home from the shop! So there!!

Well my HP printer started working even before it was manufactured. I have quantum physicists that will vouch for this.

Well, my HP printer...no, I can't beat that...I give up.
