Codec issues: xine/mplayer

Hi I'm curious to know if there is an ultimate codec package out there either for xine or mplayer. If not, i'm specifically looking for the audio codec 0x50 for mplayer. That is the error it displays and I get no audio. I believe it is for the mp2 format. I don't really know how to go about attaining the codecs because the information on mplayers site is rather confusing...

Thanks for any help,

What's so confusing about the site?

Download the binary codec package and put its contents in /usr/lib/codecs.

You can get xine, xine-lib, mplayer, mencoder, and the skins from livna or freshrpms.net

Also, the codecs will only work with the 32 bit version of mplayer and xine.
