Unhappy cmpci insmod error

Hi all,
I have problem with "insmod cmpci". The error that I'm getting is :
"/lib/modules/2.4.23/kernel/drivers/sound/cmpci.o: init_module: No such device
/lib/modules/2.4.23/kernel/drivers/sound/cmpci.o: Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters."
My sound card work perfectly, I guess this is because of the joystick issue or the winmodem that I have.
Any way, can somebody suggest a way of getting it working correctly, or a way of not getting this message during boot time.
I am using Slackware 9.1, kernel 2.4.23 on dell latitude c400.

Thanks to ALL

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
