I am trying to add a user to the chroot first I add it to the local system with adduser then change the password
with passwd. Then I add the user to chroot with addjailuser, then I change /etc/passwd so that the new user home dir
is /home/chroot/home/usertest su usertest I am not in the chroot what I am doing wrong

I have also tried log in with the test user via ssh I still not in chroot.

Why not use chroot jail, makes setting up a chroot easier, but if you're chrooting users only for sshd then this is a good solution. Patches cleanly up to OpenSSH-3.61p1.
