Chromium crashes opening large local mp4 files

Hi all,

I wrote a simple HTML to open and display mp4 files in chromium. When I open large mp4 files chromium crashes.

Is there any optimization on chromium that could be done.
Or there a possibility to "stream" the local file? Do I need to install a server for streaming. I am totally inexperienced with such questions. Any help is appreciated.

define crash please.

please open chromium in a terminal, and see what it spits out when it tries to open the large files.
show us.

are you saying "it" works with small mp4 files? are you using only mp4 or other media codecs?

can you show us what you wrote there?
why would you want to stream local files?
and why can't you just watch them in your media player?
some info is missing here.
