Chinse character printed garbled when printing through lp command


I have configure Jetlesser printer using system-config-printer

now I have a file which contains chinse character.

when I print a file using lp command chinse characters gets garbled.

It really depends upon which distribution you're using. In most cases now, programs, such as openoffice and firefox will change it postscript 2. Other programs won't. Most distributions now have paps included, which can help with the problem.

I've only dealt with Japanese, rather than Chinese, but I suspect the issues are the same. I have a page at with a section on printing. You can take a look at it and see if any of it helps. (The section on printing is towards the end.)
