chinese language input in gnome


I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I can input chinese in my documents with a english defualt settings. i am currently using fedora 4 and using gnome. andf i want to keep my defuat settings in english but sometime write some things in chinese.

i have no idea how to do it , when i try to switch language i only see english as the default input settings unmless i log out and log in the chinese .

any help would greatly needed
