Changing your MAC address

Hi, I want to know how I can change the MAC address of my NIC that the OS is transmitting to the outside world? Thanks.

The MAC is stored on the hardware and can't be changed. You'll need to look for some software to spoof it.

ifconfig [interface name] hw ether [new MAC address]


ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55
