Changing partition sizes
I have a windows partition and a Linux partition as well as swap part. and some other linux related partition. I cannot use FIPS to change the size because there is no free partition. Is there any way to change the partition size to give windows (ugh) a little more space from the free space on the linux one? If you need further information please note. Thank you very much in advance!

Yes, look at GNU parted. If its NTFS then you will need Partition Magic.

changing partition sizes without reformating, NTFS
To whom it may concern:
Could someone provide links about that "Partition Magic" program and some more specific instructions on exactly how to adjust partition sizes? Especially without reformatting the whole freaking drive. Here's what I tentatively set up already: 80 gig HD 7200 SATA raid 8 MB 50 gig WIN XP NTFS / 25 gig (blank for now) (mandrake 9.2 TO BE ARRANGED) -- though someday I hope to change that. May the best OS get the most territory! |
