Changing GUI screen resolution in /etc/XOrg.config (aka xorg.conf)

Hi:

How can I change the screen resolution(GUI). I edited /etc/XOrg.config, screen sections, I changed the resolotions but the resolution still the same! At start up, X says he is using /etc/XOrg.config. Any idea?
