Changing font color in init3

Id like to know which file to ammend when trying to change the color of the font in init 3. Would it be the grub.conf? And if so how would I go about doing this?

Id like to append to this msg...

Is it possible to have a wallpaper/splash image up while in init3? I know its possible to change your boot up splash screen... But what about once your at init3? Is it possible to have an image in the bg?

I know for sure that you can change your font color in init 3. I used to change it , but I have forgot the file name. If you wait for some time, I will check with my friend and post the file to you. It is a file stored under /etc and if you have the time, just check the file under it for the file.

Wait, I searched here, and the file is /etc/DIR_COLORS.xterm in RH8. It will be the same for you if you use the same distribution.

Regarding the other question, I think that you cant have a bg for an init3 session.

shellcode 08-24-2003 11:27 PM

/etc/rc.d/rc.font

use the setfont command.

I jumped the gun... There is no /etc/rc.d/rc.font in RH v 9 Maybe diff in slack though... Anyone else have any ideas on which file and if init3 can support a bg image?

it is /etc/rc.d/rc.font on my slackware system but slackware has a more BSD style init scripts so it might not be there on yoursystem.
