changed KDE control theme, but can't change it back

A little while ago, I changed some kind of control theme in KDE--I forget what it was called or where it was. I've decided I don't like it, and want to revert. (Two things it did were change the design of the three window controls in a window's upper right corner, and change the font of desktop icons. It appears to be the same font used in PCLinuxOS. The minimize dash is now a square dot.) But I forgot what I did. Some of the settings in the list were "default" and "classic," and I selected classic. Does anyone know what that would be? I'm sure it wasn't the KDE Theme Manager, because I don't see "default" there and I think the list was shorter.

delete the folder called /home/yourname/.kde next time you boot in it should default to the default then you can start again.

Well, that's certainly a sledgehammer solution, because other settings that I don't necessarily want to lose will be lost. But I'll back up the .kde files that I want to keep (only my khotkeysrc, really) and copy them back afterward. Thank you.

can't get my clock off military time

In the latest example of obnoxious behavior (the last was repeatedly putting me on Tokyo time), my clock has switched to military time. How do I change it back? I can't find the option in any of the KDE panel clock settings.

time is a little different.

in Mandriva and pclinuxos AFAIK that is set by root so go to the control panel and change it there.

but I am not entirely sure which distro mean.

2) if you use ntp=ntpdate protocol...you need to look at the synching issue and the firewall issue
http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/w...The_NTP_Server

you may find your router has a setting to allow ntpdate synch?

if you are using a software firewall you need to allow out but ban in the port for ntpdate....because normal iptables rules says allow out in established. normally port 123

distros may vary so check for a file called /etc/services to find your normal port number if interested....and check /etc/init.d/ntp* to see if you have enabled to service at start up

Normally if things go awry...your syslog will tell you if you are not synching...which is why some ppl have more than one nameserver to synch to.

Oops...this post about my clock was supposed to be a new thread. It's not the first time I did that.
