change swap partition size?
How can i change the size of the swap partition with the system already installed ? i mean is it the same thing as partitioning other types as well ?(i use fdisk ) thanks

Which distro are you running?

If you have the free diskspace, just add another swap partiton.

do a man -k swap

but I think it's :

mkswap /dev/partition_id

either swapon or swapctl

and finaly add entry to /etc/fstab for new swap.

what do you mean add another one ? i want to make this one smaller . do you mean two split it in two swaps?

How much ram do you have? The rule of thumb is swap is
twice the size of ram? The less ram the more swap you need.

Anywhy, try
swapoff /dev/hda7
swapon -a /dev/hda7 or what ever the paritition is now

adjust /etc/fstab as needed
