change hostname of LINUX CentOS 5 while running informix server

I need an answer asap to this question, please.

I have Linux CentOS 5 X86_64 and i'm running informix server 9.40 UC2

Soon i'll be in production mode, maybe after a few hours. I need to know if I will change the hostname of the CentOS LINUX machine, will informix server have a problem ?

I will replace the old server with this one (CentOS 5).

I do know that I have to modify the IP and the /etc/hosts file but any other suggestion ?

I will add in /etc/hosts

ipofserver nameofserver nameofserver+domain.net

I have a domain *.net

I know this is a hard question but please if you can explain or if you have an opinion pls let me know.

well if you vi (or another editor) /etc/HOSTNAME (it may be different for you) then reboot the server should recognise it it did for apache if not your main config file of the server should allow you to

They were bought by IBM. I assume you have a support contract? I have no ide how old 9.40 is.

Why does everyone thinks we all have money for support techniq and everything ? Don't answer that...

No, we don't have a support contact and the 9.40 it's an old version indeed, if we had moneyz for support, then we would of had moneyz for a better version too. XD

The problem is solved, I just tested and it worked just fine.
