Change Hostname?

I knew how to change hostname by forgot

I tried to type HOSTNAME="New Hostname"

But it doesn't work

So I want to change ([mike@localhost mike]$) localhost to other name CONSTANTLY. How that can be done?

No. As root do "hostname {new hostname}"
