change gnome panel font color
How do I change the gnome-panel font color? I use the clearlooks theme. The font color is black and so is my wallpaper. When the panel is transparent I cannot see the text. Any ideas? I have tried to edit /usr/share/themes/Clearlooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc in FC4 but to no avail.

Try right click on an empty part of the panel. See if there is an option to edit panel properties.

If it were only that easy. It must be possible, since different themes have different font colors for the panel. For example, in bluecure, the font color is black whether or not a menu is selected in the panel, but it changes to white upon selection in the clearlooks theme. Hmmm.

It is that easy. Right click, properties, then there should be two tabs, one saying general the other background, which you click on. Set it to solid color, and change the color.

Sorry, for misreading that, my fault. No idea about changing the font color.

This was kind of bizare, I happened to stumble across the same question on the Ubuntu forums. A possible solution is here I don't know if all the files are the same in your distro also, but it would be worth a shot.
