Centos 6 repeat unexpected shutdown
A person came into my office yesterday apparently looking for a spare power outlet, past my line surge protection, and plugged a vacuum cleaner into one of the boards supplying my UPS and server.
For some reason he blow the UPS, I expect from spikes appearing on the line suddenly, and the server shut down. I took the UPS out and reconnected the server cable direct to the board. I need it up and running.
While it boots and runs OK, varying from a few seconds to close to a minute, suddenly a notification from KDE write daemon pops up with System Shutdown Begin, then the server shuts down.
What might be happening here, and how do I fix it?
Thanks in anticipation,
Gil
