Question CDROM desktop entry error in Debian

Okay, firstly, I did a search and found this thread HERE , but I am unsure that it is really my answer, so forgive me for posting my exact question

I installed Debian Woody last night and everything went beautifully, but I cannot insert a cdrom (files, not music). There is an icon for the cdrom on the desktop (KDE 2.2), but when I click on it, I get:

"The desktop entry file /home/scott/Desktop/CDROM Device is of type FSDevice but has no Dev=... entry".

What does that mean exactly? Is it not mounted, or what then?

Its probably a bad link to the actual device. Its referring to device as your cdrom will usually be /dev/hdc or /dev/hdd depending on what controller its connected to, like /dev/hdc would equal to your Secondary Primary IDE, /dev/hdd would be the slave on the Secondary IDE..

Can you mount your cd manually like with:

mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom

Making sure you have an empty /mnt/cdrom directory and your cdrom is recognized as /dev/hdc as well.. etc.

I got it

...I right-clicked on the cdrom icon and went to properties, and selected browse, and there was an option to link it to the appropriate source. Now the icon is active.
