Cdrom


I have a windows 98 system with cdrom and alinux box. how do i control that cdrom from my linux system(ejecting etc).

Let me see if I've got this right:
You essentially want to use your linux box as remote control for a CD-ROM in another box running Win98?! That's just plain weird.


Seriously though, how are the two boxes connected? What sort of application do you have in mind that would need that particular function?

this probably wouldn't work, but...

if there's a way to mount the win98 cdrom drive on linux (presumably by editing fstab in some way. i don't know) then you should be able to be able to control the cdrom drive.
