CD ripping

Anyone know how to make grip or such like rip cd's as fast as i can under windows?

Under windows, audiograbber can directly encode to mp3 at 10 speed, i'm currently flailing to get 2.5 speed without even encoding here....

I just sent Jackie an email begging him to write a Linux version of AudioGrabber. That's about the only thing I still use Winodws for (not begging Jackie but ripping CD's).

well yeah, same here... audio and video apps are the only thing i really need windows for, i know there is like.. 1 dvd ripper for linux, but it's never worked for me yet, and the same for many other things...

always presumed Jackie Franck was a lass... always thought the name gave it away a bit.. ahh well.

Not sure xcdroast will be of any use, cos i'm sure they both come back to cdparanoia or such like, any of which go at the same speed... unless there's somewthign hidden away in the options for it that i'm too lazy to look for.

Maybe Jackie is a lass, I think he/she is Dutch and I just thought that was the Dutch spelling. On the other hand it could just be me being narrow-minded thinking all geeks are male.

Xcdroast is burning software (for recording to CDrs), not ripping software (for making mp3s/oggs from audio CDs)

yeah, kinda what i thought...

gotta give the little mite credit for trying tho, i don't think him and computers get on really. I'm sure you saw some of those documentaries about texans living in a modern world, very interesting, something about beverlybillies or something.. ;-) no doubt, first time he saw a computer he didn't know wether to push the buttons or brand it. Looks like he made the wrong choice!! :-D

so any ideas about ripping fast then??? anyone??

I found this site on the web, i haven't used it, but it seems to have lots of options for the encoder being used, so hopefully one of these will work for you

yeah, well i know that there's loads of VLSI prefab plants in texas, esp for Texas Instruments CMOS IC's... funny that.. TI, Texas...

And the place where they grow the huuuuuuuuuge silicon crystals does seriously kick ass.

see now i have to step in cause i live in texas, and everyone has it all wrong cause they watch old westerns and get the wrong idea. texas is very big indeed, and yes we do have alot of wide open space for cows and other farm, whatever you want to call it... but let me remind you, texas is way above many other states in technology and one of the fastest growing with technological headquarters for company's like Nortel Networks, Dell, Compaq and others.. Austin is like a small silicon valley over there in California so lay off isajera for living in Texas, cause I live here too, and there is way more than cows and inbreeds, that is arkansas your talking about with the hillbillies.
