Caps lock remapping into an "alt Gr lock"?

Is it possible to switch the Caps Lock's meaning from being a "shift lock" into an "alt gr lock"? What I mean with this is that if you'd hit, say, A without this lock on, with the "alt gr lock" on pressing A would output Alt Gr+A, which is ə by default.

I tried looking around for xmodmap docs but couldn't find anything concerning this. I'd like to have this for the Caps lock key tends to be useless and I'd have an use in mind for an "alt gr lock"
