Cant see hard disk drives???

I have never dealt with Linux and knew nothing about it. I tried to format linux to load xp pro to a Gateway 960 server. I have done everything exactly like I am supposed to but it still wont see the 2 hard disks?? I have talked to Gateway and loaded the scsi drivers they told me to and it says it loads them on f6 but it still wont see the hard disks when I try to load xp. It stops saying no hard disk drives were found. It has 2 hard drives on it and I have even talked to LSI but they do not support the drives after they go to Gateway. I do not have the recovery cds and Gateway told me no need until I get either linux cd or win server 03 to go on it? I have tried everything I know to try and I am at the end of my rope.
Any ideas will be appreciated!
Thanks!

I'm trying hard to understand your problem. What does it mean "I tried to format linux to load xp pro"? Is there Linux installed and you want to install Windows XP instead? In this case it has not much to do with Linux.

have you tried mounting the hard drives across the network? there are packages that mount ntfs from other computers to your box.
