cant rename desktop disk links in gnome

Hi everyone,
Is there any way to rename the disk drive links on my desktop in gnome?
I have two 298.1 GB drives and they display as icons on my desktop called "298.1 GB Volume" and "298.1 GB Volume (2)".

When I go to the "Computer" link on my desktop, and then right click the 298.1 GB drives, there is the option to rename them but when I try I just get the message "The item could not be renamed."

In my fstab the disks are called: /media/sata1 and /media/sata2 but for some reason they display as 298.1 GB Volume on my desktop :-(

If anyone has any suggestions they would be very welcome.

Thanks
(btw I am running Debian in case that helps)
