Cant Reboot........

Hi all, I'm running Mandrake 9.1 and I'm finding out that I can't reboot. I can shut down, but when I go to log off and it gives me the option to reboot, I click reboot and nothing happens. I mean nothing. I sat there for 5 minutes waiting to see if anything would happen but nada thing. If I click on HALT, that works fine. I haven't tried any other command yet, cause i'm still a noob and am not familiar with any command lines yet.
Any suggestions?
Any would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance
RANDON

Try init 6 as root, ie, from a console:

su
(enter root password)
init 6

That should restart the computer.

u may consider

#su -

it will set your env variables to roots , (giving lenghty paths can be irritating)
