cant insmod agpgart

i have red hat 9 with kernel 2.4.20-20.9

when i try to insmod agpgart agp_try_unsupported=1:
i recieved the error:

Using /lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/drivers/char/agp/agpgart.o
/lib/modules/2.4.20-20.9/kernel/drivers/char/agp/agpgart.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
Any IDEAS?

What kind of hardware are you running? Bleeding edge hardware will require a newer kernel to have AGP support.

I definitely suspect that you need a newer kernel to support that motherboard, looks pretty bleeding edge to me. I'd suggest you grab the 2.4.22 kernel from http://www.kernel.org and give that a go. If you don't have any luck with that, try applying the ac4 patch, or try out the 2.4.23-pre7 patch.
