cannot use FG and


Ok this is odd

I set /etc/ssh/sshd_config option PermitRootLogins to 'no'.
SO i login with my usual login an SU to root. Now when im Ctrl+Z'd applications and i type 'fg' console says 'sh: fg: current: no such job'. But if i press ctrl+d it goes back in. I cannot switch tasks etc it seems when i pause a process it spawns a new shell

Help?

Sorry, can't explain it. But if you regularly want to run mutliple tasks at once, have you considered the application "screen", which gives you up to ten shells from a single console?
