cannot restore backup

I decided that I really wanted to be able to play world of warcraft, so I wiped my machine, repartitioned and installed windows & ubuntu.

Now I need to restore my files; however, it just doesn't seem to be working.

I made 3 backups (just to be safe) of my home directory onto dvds.

When I try to copy the files I get a lot of this:

cp: reading `/media/cdrom0/jon23d/documents/tsManual/installingtheserver4.htm': Input/output error

I made the backup as root and am copying the files as root.

This is happening on all 3 dvd's.

Any ideas why?

Don't really know what the problem with copying from the DVDs is, sorry. Have you enabled support
for the UFS file system in the kernel?

Just want to point out that World of Warcraft is playable on Linux, with either Cedega or Wine.
I myself have tried and got it working perfectly with the latest versions of Cedega (they keep making new versions that fix WoW problems).
Only trick with Cedega is that it's a commercial product so in case you're not willing to pay for it Wine seems to be a working alternative.

Can you read that file it's erroring on from the DVD? Is it always at the same file? Can you copy a single file from the DVD without errors?
