Cannot print selected text

I've successfully installed my networked printer using CUPS 1.2.12. I am able to print web pages, documents, etc.

However, when I try to print the highlighted text from a web page by checking the "Selection" option from the Print dialog window of Firefox, I get a blank page. If I print the same web page (either in its entirety or just a particular page), then it prints as expected.

Is this a known bug with Firefox or is this something related to how I have my printer set up?

I have an HP PSC 2355 printer. It is networked to my router using an Iogear CAT5-to-USB converter. My OS is Fedora 7. Under another system I have, running Fedora Core 5, everything works fine, however on that system I have Firefox

Another question... why doesn't Open Office 2.2.0 provide an option to print selected text?
